The rising and volatile cost of natural gas has been credited by the utilities themselves as the major contributing factor in these rate increases in Florida. Volatile energy costs are detrimental to Florida's families and businesses. Thankfully, Florida’s abundant sunshine gives us an opportunity to lead on solar power. As our population grows and temperatures increase, it will also be vital to conserve as much power as possible. Today, Florida’s energy efficiency ranking is currently one of the lowest in the nation.
